HORSE RACING 20th NOV 2020 – Saturday Singapore

21 11 2020 Race

HISTORY OF SINGAPORE GOLD CUP

History

Inaugurated in 1924 at the Serangoon Road Race Course at Farrer Park, it was raced there until 1933 at which time it was moved to the new Bukit Timah Race Course. It remained there through 1999 when the Bukit Timah facility was closed to be replaced by the new Kranji Racecourse.

In 1958, Abdul Mawi became the first local jockey to win the Gold Cup. In 2008, El Dorado won the event, making him the first ever Japanese-bred horse trained in Singapore to win a Singapore Group 1 race.

Since to 2002, the race has been closed to international entries. The residency conditions are specified on the Singapore Turf Club website.

Horse in Top Form and Group races experience

Horses that wins are horse in form. In the Group 1 races, you need more than talent, to win. Any horse which possess the right combination, many parts of different ingredients  will succeed. All this but with no luck you may ended up disapointed.  The form of horses that is peaking at the right time are horse like Mr Clint (3), Minister (5), Aramaayo (2) and few other light weights like Big Hearted (13),Ocean Crossing (10), Gold Strike (8), Senor Don (11) and last but not least Vittoria Perfetta (16)

I have chosen Top Knight as he has got it all, top jockey, great form, proven amazing turn of foot in the last 200m in the wet ground and his luck shown 2 Group 1 this year.

Giving weight to all contenders is the only reason that goes against him. But with a high rating score of 103points it seems not too much of weight against him. Horses with 10 rating points (93) carrying 2.5kg lighter.

Anything can happen in horses racing so, I am wishing the connections of all contenders the best of luck!
