Hello, welcome back!
Sunday race days will surely brings in more crowd as it’s generally a Public Holiday in Singapore. Many racegoers usually be having more free time than a Saturday afternoon races. Most Singaporean need to work at least minimum 6 days per week. Living in one of the most expensive city of the world needs more money than you can imagine.
This week’s Sunday race day will be having an added attraction in Race number 10, the feature race of the Singapore Group 2 STEWARDS’ CUP GROUP 2 (4 YEAR OLD) This year’s race will be dominated by two top rated horse in (No.1) LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO and (No. 2) TIGER ROAR.
LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO who have an outstanding record of 10 Starts and 8 wins and 1 second placing. Highest rated with 101 points. TIGER ROAR with a track record of 12-6-3-1 (Starts-1-2-3)
TIGER ROAR will be charging home late as shown in his victorious comeback win after a 10 months break. He showed an impressive turn of foot in winning the 1200meters (Turf) with a time of 1.08.64sec. His come back win was impressive and shown he will be better in this Sunday’s race distance of 1600m.
LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO, a top talent horse will be not so easy up front even with the weight advantage in the SET WEIGHT RACE for 4 year olds.

18th June 2022 – Kranji Singapore
The up and coming 3year old Sprint over 1200m Turf in Singapore Kranji Race tracks will be one of the platform where you can see the winner of this race be one of the best sprinters for the future of Singapore horse racing.
Eyes will be focusing to a 2 time winner in Silent is Gold, Australian bred gelding by STAR TURN, is by Gr.1 Blue Diamond-winning STAR WITNESS.
Silent is Gold won twice, and a third out of his 4 races to date. His 2 wins was a 1200 m turf and a 1.08.77 sec with 56.5kg and ridden by race jockey Ronnie Stewart. He recorded 2 wins on turf track and both done under 1.09.00 sec.
Everyone is hoping for him to put up the same show and we wish him and his connections the best of luck. He is my first choice and will likely see Golden Monkey, Renzo, Al-Qantur, War Commander be fighting hard to be chasing him at the final 100m.

Horse racing is getting more exciting in Singapore as horses, trainers and jockeys have shown enough data for you to better select winners of races
Top jockeys shown his high strike rate of about 30% (win) and is in a good position to choose his rides. Brazilian jockey Manoel Nunes is current leading jockey. To make things even exciting to observe his rides, is that he have got a 60% first, second or third place in his rides thus far. This means if he have 10 rides, it is going to be a 6 top three place for him. What a consistency and wonderful data of him.
This is my selections:
Outsiders chance seems to be not for him. Yes, striking outsider seems to be as much enjoyable in horse racing. Happy racegoers, who do mind spending his afternoon at the turf club just to enjoy, will be delighted if he can spot an outsider chance horses. And outsider chance, usually come from a not so popular riders.
A good example of what I am saying happened last week. He is non other than a hardworking, seasoned jockey who celebrates his 54th birthday last week and 2 winners on that beautiful day. One paid $34 for a win and the other paid $180 in Race 7 and Race 8 respectively.
Jockey Saifudin has got over 250 wins to his name and he is still as motivated as before. Been riding races since as long as I can remember. He is as humble and clean and committed jockey that I can see. Congrats to all, top jockeys, outsider jockeys and all in the industry!

What I am trying to say is, it is not an easy task to be there. Some smart horse owners, with not much knowledge of horses can do it very fast like 3 to 5 years after being involved while majority of others usually takes 20 years and Millions of dollars to be own race horse that may be a runner in Cups races. I mean a Cup race with Stakes money of $500,000 or more.
BESIDES LUCK, WHAT MORE?
There’s this saying, When You Are Lucky, Everything You Touched Becomes Gold.
I am not sure what that truly means, but from experience in horse racing, it is not so simple to make profits in horse ownership, it is everyone who deals with you must have certain luck, hardwork, skills and you can be lucky. Just like winning an Olympic Medal, everything should be in place. No winner of any Olympic Medal wins an event just by purely luck. To be one of the finalist, to be there you got to be among the best and be of that quality. Similarly in horse racing ownership. Starting from buying, to the races, everyone should be the best and experience counts.
Who is everyone? It makes of a team, at all department of your venture, starting from
- Who you buy the race horse from/ with,
- Who you got your horses broken (basic training for young horses)
- Who trained your horses
- Who is the syce taking care of your horses
- Who rode your horses in training and races
Too many questions need to be asked, the right thing in horse racing ownership is All must be in place and right before you can become lucky.
