Saturday is a busy day with 12 races and can be quite tricky as the races are presented with not many outstanding horses that will be going to a higher class of racing. Almost all races are of open and punters can expect winners from mid range payout. And there’s only a few races with a clear favorites to win.
Having said that, just remind me of last meeting races. The clear favorites in some races disappoints the whole population of racegoers. Many would expect Golden Monkey would be there at the finishing line, unfortunately things happened in racing.
Sometimes if you are nearer to the horses, you will be able to give better judgement of horses. One of the way of getting near to the horses is to own the horse and you will be more updated of the horses conditions by it’s care giver or it’s trainer. He is responsible to update horses conditions on and off the races.

Horse racing In Singapore, this time will be running on Monday 23rd January 2023. It’s the CNY holidays and a nice way to unwind at the turf club. Total of 12 races, and about 10 to 12 horses per card. Horse ownership in Kranji can be a good form of alternative investment. Horse ownership in Singapore can be profitable as it is not too much of competition as compared to Hong Kong. To make good returns in Singapore you need to buy horses that is of class 3 at the minimum. If you are interested to start owning a race horse or two, and would need some help to start. Today’s race cards is filled with interesting line up. Among the cards we will have an opportunity watching a few last start winners, up and coming quality horses, and frequent winners matching again in races at different weights and gates. I am happy to see among others how these few horses finishing their campaign at this beginning of the the year. Horses like of Cosmic Dancer, HOle in One, Petrograd, Rumble (last scored with a record pay out for Singapore this year) are interesting last start winners who highlight of
Race 11, Both Golden Monkey(6) and King Arthur (1) will be fighting it out at the final furlong of 1200meters race. The KRANJI STAKES A (KS-A) race to be run on the long course at Kranji, the Singapore Turf Club. King Arthur have recorded 2 wins on 1200m Turf surface among his 9 career wins. He will be carrying 57kg, thanks to a claiming jockey in Apprentice F Yusoff – 2kg. Similarly, Golden Monkey won 2 times over 1200m on turf, one at a Group 3 level registering a 1.08.87 sec beating Silent is Gold by a comfortable 3.3Length for 3 years old horses on 22nd June last year. He is now a 4 years old and heading towards greater things of his racing career.
He will be at a weight advantage for carrying 53.5kg with ace jockey M Nunes on board. Golden Monkey will be a favorite to win this and I think he won’t disappoint his fans.
Grand Koonta, Lim’s Dream, Kharisma, Cyclone and Sky Eye will be finishing off for the 3rd placing. Race tactics is key and looks like Golden Monkey will be taking a better than mid field position before pushing the turbo button in the final 200m.
Sky Eye (9) will be a good thing for the adventurous as he has had a record of good time (1.08.60) in October 2022, when he was second to King Arthur in the similar class, course and distance. In that race he carried 51kg, from barrier no.3. On Monday Sky Eye will be ridden by an apprentice Jockey S Jamil, claim of 4kg. He should be riding at 49kg. A good weight advantage, and jump from barrier 4.

Let’s go straight to my best selection for the day. Race 7 horse 2, Excellent Fighter.
Despite failing to gain a clear run until the 100m on debut last month over this straight 1,000m, (Race 7-2) Excellent Fighter showed a good turn of foot to win by a narrow margin. He didn’t beat much in that field, but he clearly has what makes of a good classy horse and looks good to win again. Following off-season throat surgery, (Race 7-1)Forte needed his first run at the Valley and returns to his favorite straight 1,000m, where he has one win and five placings from seven starts. Newcomer (Race7-9) Prince Of Porty comes from a racing family, and his preparation has been excellent. He will show what he have and will wait for an interesting challenge here in the final 100m when the whips started swinging.
(Race 7-3) Cheval Valiant added thirds in his first two runs this season to his honest straight 1,000m form before taking a break after a poor effort in October. He is a good outsider in this race.
Race 8 no 2California Deeply, can win again. He is a classy 3 years old and a top 3 finishing efforts is expected from most selections experts. California Deeply, needs to overcome a weight increase after finishing fifth in his local debut over this Course & Distance race with two sweeping victories over reopposing rivals. He is still untapped and has claims to make.
Horse no 5. Pretty Queen Prawn has shown good versatility to fill the frame in all five Course and Distance runs this term, including two wins in Class Four, and was only beaten late by California Deeply in his most recent start in this grade. He reopposes significantly better off the weights, but will face a difficult task from gate nine.
Beware of Horse No.1 Special M has filled the frame in three of his four Course and Distance starts this season, including a solid second to California Deeply while carrying 134 pounds, but will face stiff opposition from gate 10 carrying top weight. Gorgeous Vitality finished third to California Deeply in his first race back from knee surgery in July. He’ll have tightened up in preparation for the run and will go close.

Today, it is likely a bigger chance of favorites and a fair chance of good payout wins in Shatin.

Another exciting week for Singapore racing, filled with 12 races and possible 60% favourite winners.
Last week was a very difficult week for Singapore racing punters. We saw many outsiders getting the winners – paying big fat devidens, 7 of them in fact pay from $43, $66, $106, $99, 146, $82 and $486 return for a $5 win investment.
The above are the big fat pay out for each Win and a Place Bets of $5 per ticket of win and a $5 per ticket for a place bets.
Anyway, this website is not to encourage you guys to bet on horses, as there is no guarantee in any bets and horse racing bet is very risky. Many lost their life time savings as they cannot control the drive to bet or to stop betting when they lost. Best is stay away from it as it can be an addictive and unhealthy once you are hooked.

Harry Kasim score 3 wins on Singapore first day of racing and a $486 outsider!
Harry cuts Dubai stint short to be with young family, and now he is rewarded with the biggest payout at the opening race day of the year!
What a wonderful way to ride at home so he will be with his family. And he is rewarded with a handsome pay out win $486 for a $5 bet on win and $116 for a bet on place.
The first day of racing in Singapore for season 2023 Harry Kasim scored 3 winners and one of it is on RUMBLE on Race 9 and horse 12.
His other winner is also a handsome payout of $67/$13 Race 7, beating Per In-crown and Mercury Strom in a Class 5 Division 1 race for 1200m on Poly.
At Race 11 he salutes again and this time on a favorite horse Race 10 horse no. 7 Sabah Ace which is paying a $13/$5 pay out.

Hongkong Races been exciting ! The class of horses is tremendous. Race timing is fast and almost every time at the final 100meters to winning post you cannot be 100% sure of who is going to clearly win the race. Most races are thrilling at the finish and that’s the joy racegoers wanted.
They have produced what the public wants to see and enjoy! All Stables is going for a win. Jockeys, Trainers, Owners alike. They all loves to win. Winning is a hobby and that’s what created the positive, electrifying atmosphere. Races day are usually pack with more than 30,000 people at the racing club.
The number of horses been slightly down, probably due to uncertainty of the economic and slight political challenges. I think it may be the same any part of the world. We are facing the same uncertainty of the future.
Anyway, Hongkong is still going to be the most exciting location for the races in Asia. Hongkong’s healthy turn over from bets and sponsorships is the factor that is making it the top of the trade in it’s region.
This year we will have more fun and excitement at the Hongkong Jockey Club!!
