Horse Racing In Singapore (Selections – updated on 12 / Aug / 2023)

13th August 2023 (Race 1 Starts at 12.00noon SG/HK Time (+8 GMT)

Winner of races in Singapore will be recording a history for himself. It can be a valuable experience and something money cannot buy in future.

Getting photos and videos of your winning in the Singapore horse racing will be a unique historical photo of you at the winner’s circle.

Sadly, It’s a sure to be gone thing here. Horse owners are also going to have new plans for their interest in horse racing. Some will move their horses to Malaysia, Australia, or New Zealand.

Few will give up and ‘hang their boots’. Some will decide to stay low and sell their horses. They are worried if the horses are not sold later or unable to go to Malaysia (due to age of horse – import requirement set), they have to be responsible for the horses fully and that time they imagine will be problematic situation for horse owners. But I do believe the authorities will help out and provide solutions.

In any situation, when there are problems.. there will be opportunities. Currently there will be horse owners selling their horses at an attractive price. Good horses may be sold at below market price and that will be an opportunity for you.

If you are interested in getting your hands on horse ownership, kindly send me a text and will get back to you soonest.

PS: My Horse racing will continue as usual. After a couple of months on holiday!

3rd JUNE 2023 – Singapore

Horse Racing In Singapore

Horse racing Selections by author of this site, generally based on recent or latest last run.

Horse racing can be unpredictable. Normally in the Classes 5 races, as this horses are there in this Class as it is due to their low strike rate and low rating points. Horses in the better classes are more reliable and predictable. Unfortunately most of the horses are in the Class 5 and takes up to 60 to 70% of our weekly event.

This can sometimes be interesting as you can see horses of , 8, 9, and 10years old seems to be competing with younger horses. Young horses are racing in that class as many horses takes time to get themselves ready to be competitive. This can be due to many reasons.

Older horses which races in the Class 5 races can be very capable in their prime age of 4,5,6years old. They are slower as they gets older hence, they have dropped in points and able to be competitive at this Class.

This is my selections:

Should you are the owner of the horse taking part this week, you are given the priority to arrange which jockey you are nominating to ride your horse. Surely you have to make arrangements in the earlier part of the week. Best to discuss with your Trainer on plans of your horses career.

Picking A winner at the parade ring

Watch the parade.
Before each race, the horses “parade” in front of the grandstand as part of their
warm up. Best place to start your observation is at the back of the grandstand, where horse owners, trainers jockeys, were discussing. Sometimes they just be there without any serious talk. They just talk something else while waiting for the signal for the jockeys to mount. Observing body language can be a valuable tool in picking a winner. Other than looking at humans, it is a good time to look at the stars of the races. Look for a horse with a shiny coat, nicely arched neck, spring in his stride and alert.

Horses that are sweating profusely, bucking or exhibiting other nervous behavior may expend too much energy before the race to produce an optimal effort.

Have a great time and enjoy!

GOOD LUCK and Have A Great Sunday!

1st April 2023 – Kranji Singapore

Horse racing in Singapore is going on Saturday 1st of April 2023. 1st April can be a tricky day as it is commonly a joke day in APRIL FOOLS DAY!

I don’t know much, why it is called an April Fools Day. If you have some time and idea why it was called an April Fools day.. Kindly let us have more information.. Every time this day showed at the calendar it will remind me of a funny day when I was growing up.

Let’s talk about horse racing in Singapore now. Time flies, it’s going to be another interesting day at Kranji. The main event for the Saturday’s meeting is going to be at RACE 10, a Class 2 race over 1400meters on the turf short course.

2 Apprentice jockeys will be on the first 2 favorites in that race. Apprentice Jockey (-1kg) with a kilo claim, will be riding Horse No.9 called SILENT IS GOLD. And Champion Jockey M. NUNES will be on the hot favorite horse no. 6 in SUPER SALUTE.

Both horses have strong chance and may the faster and lucky horse wins. Yes, in horse racing Luck is an important factor. Looking into that race, I hope SUPER SALUTE will win as he have got a better rider. Both horse is a strong and fighting spirit horse, but a champion jockey is the plus factor that may make him lucky.

Any way this is my selections and best wishes:

Ways to make money in horse racing investments

You like horses and like to make it as your daily activities? Some take it seriously, but to some only as a weekend hobby. Some can make it profitable and take this ‘love’ to a daily thing. They talk, eat, read, google about horses and invest on horses too. Some like to know how to make money and support your hobby and make it profitable.

First of all, you must have at least 2 of the ingredients. No. 1 – love horses, No. 2 a business minded personality.

Let me share you some ideas of horse racing profits. There are many ways you can become profitable on horse racing, some are not honest ways, which is not good. Many lost money in horse racing and to extend saying ‘HORSE RACING IS DIRTY’

Let’s go to the ways to make money in Horse Racing In Singapore.

  1. Be a racehorse owner and buy a very good horse. You make money from horses winning races, buy at least a Class 3 or better horse. This is the only way to make money as a race horse owner, and if you choose not to bet on horses. Class 3 horses prize money is a $70,000, in which winning horses owner will take more than 43% of the purse money of $70,000, which is going to be around $30,000 to $32,000. This will cover your 1 years training bill. If your trainer charges you $3000 per month on the professional fees, box, feed, training and upkeep. It is important to keep the overheads low. Local trainers may charge about $100/day of upkeep. Remember : Expensive horses is not necessary good horse. A Good horse is usually from a good proven bloodline, have good conformation, scopey, strong, good physical and walks nicely, have a good attitude, calm and more… Short cut in buying a good decent race horse, you need money and connections. I can help to do this.
  2. Focus on betting, and there are a few strategies and you will need to pay a lot of attention on the horses work out in preparation for the races. Handicapping is essential skills, but you may find a good handicapper or tipster for this. Other things about winning bets on horses is having good eyes for observing recent Trails. Barrier Trials are usually conducted on weekdays, usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sprinters are usually easier to catch as the have to show it during the weekdays morning trials. There’s more other things about batting which you need to learn from past races. Anyway, If you ever choose to bet on horses, bare in mind.. you only use spare monies and that you can afford losing them. It is not recommended to bet on horses as there are many stories of money losing punters and ended up a broken person. From Riches to Rags. Many people who is long enough in this industry will have stories of the above. So, only aim the other way, in which bring small money and aim for big money. Example of Small money bets are Tierce and Quartet bets. A $2 Bet – and if you are lucky you may bag a big return on them. Small Bets or Large bets – End of the day is about LUCK. Best recommendation is not to bet on horses as it is not easy and nothing is a sure bet!
  3. Buy and sell horses. If you have the skills to select young horses. Buy them, get them prepared for the sales in it’s countries and sell them for profits. This needs many years of experience. It is a business and it can be profitable. Many data of good stallion horses, dams and bloodlines must be mastered or at least studied. You need large capital of around $100,000 (SGD) and a risk of losing your money, due to unsold or bad enough to have an injured horse. You also must have experience in handling buyers and foreign trainers, if you were to operate from Singapore. You also need to pay taxes on your profits. (You need to ask your accountant or other professionals in this matter) Prepared horses are usually sold online like inglisdigital.com or the gavelhouse.com and there are some others too. You need to set a minimum price for the seller to sell for you and usually it is through an online auction – which you may have buyers from a few countries. If your horse have got not much attention, you may lose the participation fees charged by the auctioneer. Again here you need to buy good quality horses, to get attention and to sell at good prices. Send to a good trainer who is experience enough to prepare your horses for sale.
